LIVING, LEARNING, LAUGHING
Our aims at Excel in life CIC

Excel in life CIC is a day service offering a variety of skills to attain and activities to take part in.
Our motto is “Living, Learning, Laughing” and Excel in life CIC has been quoted to be “one of the most positive, happy places to come and learn skills, make friends, and prepare people for their future independence”.
We deliver several ASDAN programmes, in the areas of Personal Development, Hair and Beauty, Living Independently and Animal Care. Our groups are small, providing a high staff-learner ratio. We tailor our courses to suit the individual and they are portfolio-based with no time limit on achievement.

We help build confidence and self-esteem as well as facilitating awareness of personal presentation. All of this is delivered in a safe, comfortable environment with friendly, approachable staff, some of whom are qualified, experienced teachers. Our centre has a fully equipped salon providing a realistic working environment. We have a bistro area, where we support our learners to prepare lunches, bake, and learn how to prepare meals for future independence. To gain experience of a café environment, the learners adopt the roles of Bistro Manager and café assistants.

Many of our learners are keen crafters! They enjoy making greetings cards, jewellery, wax melts, natural beauty products, to name but a few. Drawing and painting sessions are popular, either within our centre or in local parks. We support learners to use IT equipment and produce PowerPoint presentations, which they present to the group, thus enhancing confidence and communication skills.
We attend weekly dancing sessions at Spirix Collective, which is ideally located across from our building. These sessions are helping to improve the fitness of our learners, alongside making it an enjoyable experience. We are expanding our offer of health and fitness sessions with the introduction of small group fitness training and female football, with the support of a local Personal Trainer.

We like to go on visits to places such as theatres, museums, exhibitions, zoos, safari parks, to name a few. We have many more planned for this year!
